La Fine Dell’America painting by Tamassia Martins
Oil on canvas (24 x 30 inches)
This painting’s English translation would be “The End of America.” La Fine Dell’America is a well-sized, fun, and colorful painting that never fails to attract a mention or a joke in almost every exhibition I’ve ever done.
It was inspired by Homer Simpson’s famous saying, “Donuts, is there anything they can’t do?” So many people ask me why I called it The End of America, and I think the answer is simple: America wouldn’t be the same without donuts. Like most of my paintings, this has several layers of color behind it to make the final color more intense. I also used a mix of gel and painted on the ceramic cup to try and give it more depth.
